Role and playstyle
Barats is a tank-fighter who rides his dinosaur Detona, played in the jungle and the EXP lane. His passive, Big Guy, makes him bigger and tougher as his skills build stacks. In mlbbhub's October 19 data he is A tier with a 51.9% win rate, a 0.7% pick rate and only a 4.2% ban rate, so he is usually free to pick.
Recommended build and emblem
- Items (jungle): Tough Boots, War Axe, Thunder Belt, Brute Force Breastplate, Guardian Helmet, Immortality. Community builds on mlbb.io from August to October also favor Tough Boots, War Axe, Thunder Belt and Brute Force Breastplate.
- Flex swaps: Dominance Ice over Immortality against attack-speed carries, healers or shield-heavy front lines; Athena's Shield against a mage who can remove him early; Warrior Boots when the first two damage sources are physical.
- Emblem: Common set with Thrill, Seasoned Hunter and War Cry.
- Battle spell: Retribution in the jungle. In the EXP lane most players take Flicker.
Combo and key tips
- Keep stacks up and close in with Skill 1 (So-Called Teamwork), pull enemies to you with Skill 2 (Missile Expert), cut off their escape with the ultimate (Detona's Welcome) and finish with basic attacks.
- Missile Expert drags targets toward you, so pull them into a wall or another hero; the ultimate is at its best when the target hits terrain, so never cast it into open space.
- Against Purify users, hold the ultimate: force Purify out first with Missile Expert or an ally's crowd control.
- At high stacks Barats is big enough to block the Lord pit, buff camp entrances and base gates.
What to pick against Barats

- The common thread: mages who kite him from range and fighters with percentage damage against tanks. For items, Antique Cuirass against his physical damage, and Malefic Roar or Divine Glaive to break through his bulk.
Who Barats is good against
According to mlbbhub he has the edge against Silvanna (+3.4), Alucard (+3.2), Phoveus (+3.2), Argus (+3.0), Lolita, Brody and Eudora. Melee heroes such as Silvanna, Alucard and Phoveus struggle most against his pull-into-the-wall combo.
Current state
Barats had no direct changes in 2.2.16 or 2.2.16a. His win rate slipped 0.8 points over the last 40 days but stays steady at 51-52% across ranks. Because he is rarely banned, he is a reliable jungle option when Aulus or Hirara are banned.
