Mobile Legends hotfix 2.2.16a: Aulus, Rafaela, Hirara and Eudora nerfed, Kalea buffed
Moonton released 2.2.16a, the first hotfix of Season 42, on October 14, 2026. There are no item or map changes, only five hero adjustments. Our earlier article covers the full 2.2.16 patch; this one is only about the new tweaks.
Aulus: stronger early, weaker late
- Enhanced basic attacks from his passive now give a flat 20% attack speed that no longer grows by 2% per level.
- Enhanced basic attack damage drops from 135 to 120, with per-level growth down from 15 to 12. The HP regen from these attacks changes from 30 + 15% total physical attack to 15 + 20%.
- Skill 1 now has a 15-second cooldown at every level (was 14 to 12 seconds).
- His ultimate is stronger at low ranks: the first four strikes deal 150-230 base damage instead of 110-270, and the last slash 450-690 instead of 330-810. The final hit also winds up faster.
Other changes
- Rafaela: Skill 1 now has a 5-second cooldown at every rank (it used to drop to 3 seconds). Skill 2 at max rank goes from 8.5 to 9.5 seconds.
- Hirara: Skill 1 (Meisen-e) cooldown goes from 9-5.5 to 10-6.5 seconds. In return, Skill 2 gets slightly more base damage and higher late-game scaling (42% to 70% extra physical attack).
- Eudora: The center, outer and delayed damage of her ultimate all drop by about 10%; for example, center damage goes from 600-1000 to 540-900.
- Kalea: Her enhanced third basic attack deals 120 (+12 per level) instead of 70, and absorbing a Water Zone now gives 60% movement speed for 1 second. Tidal Strike's bonus goes from 8% to 14% of max HP.
Early numbers
In mlbbhub's ranked data from October 18, Aulus (58.5% win rate, 43.6% ban rate) and Rafaela (57.9%) are still S tier. That window still includes pre-patch games, so the full effect will show over the next weeks. Hirara remains one of the most banned heroes at 68.7%. Kalea is still a rare pick at a 0.2% pick rate.
Our take
On Aulus, aim to win in the first 12 to 15 minutes rather than dragging the game out: his early ultimate hits harder, but his late attack speed and sustain are lower. Rafaela is still a safe support, but she can no longer slow and heal as often in long team fights. Eudora stays strong in mid lane; she is just a little less likely to one-shot a target that has one defensive item.
