Mobile Legends meta report (Season 42, 2.2.16a): the strongest heroes by role

This report is based on the Season 42 tier list built on mlbbhub ranked data and updated on October 18. The 2.2.16a hotfix on October 14 trimmed four strong heroes, but the data window still includes pre-patch games, so its full effect is not visible yet.

Strongest heroes by role

EXP: Masha (60.4% win rate). As players learn her reworked kit she has become the most successful hero of the season. Argus (56.1%) is a strong alternative that is almost never banned (1.1%).
Jungle: Aulus (57.7%). Still on top after the hotfix, but banned about 44% of the time. If he is gone, Popol and Kupa (54.7%) is a good backup.
Mid: Valir (54.0%). His slows and knockbacks stop diving fighters, and he is banned only 2.2% of the time.
Gold: Obsidia (53.6%). Her ultimate stuns and tethers her to the target, so she can chase down even fleeing enemies. She stays steady despite a high pick rate.
Roam: Marcel (58.2%) and Rafaela (57.4%). Marcel starts team fights with his wide freeze; Rafaela was trimmed in 2.2.16a but is still very safe.

Risers and fallers

Rising: Masha went from about 56% on the September 16 list to 60.4%. Bruno also sits in A tier in the gold lane (53.2%) after his rework.
Falling: Melissa dropped from S to C tier (48.6%) after the 2.2.16 nerfs, and Miya slipped to B tier (49.4%).
Watch list: Aulus, Rafaela, Hirara and Eudora were nerfed in 2.2.16a and are expected to drop over the next weeks. Kalea was buffed but is still rarely played.

Draft tip

Hirara (68.6%) and Aulus (44%) are the two most banned junglers. If your first bans go to them, consider first-picking Masha: she wins more than anyone and is banned less. If the enemy takes Masha, pick a mid laner with lasting control, such as Valir with his knockbacks and slows.
